Outreach

Nothing substitutes for face-to-face time with your audience. In addition to creating a social media plan for CHI, I've done a lot of networking.

This year I am the programs co-chair for the Colorado Healthcare Communicators, a local group for public relations professionals in health. With my co-chair, I plan and facilitate monthly breakfast programs.

I also created a Colorado social media group with other health-related foundations and nonprofits. This is by far one of my best accomplishments. We talk about best practices, celebrate our accomplishments, explore the latest and greatest tools, and promote each other's work. Our format of open collaboration and discussion has been more valuable and rewarding than anything I could have done alone.

In my free time, I am also the social media coordinator for the Gift of Jazz, promoting jazz throughout Colorado on Facebook and Twitter.
